Oops! Rally cars in Belgium miss a bend then reverse straight into a canal
Drivers in the Ypres Rally kept missing a corner only to reverse into a canal in a desperate bid to get back onto the road.
Footage filmed on Saturday 14 August showed an Alpine A110 Rally RGT car being driven by Baffoun Philippe and his co-pilot Quartini Charlyne, missing a corner and going into a cornfield.
But in a desperate attempt to get back on the road, the driver reversed straight into a canal!
Concerned onlookers quickly appeared to offer help.
They were not the only ones to miss the turn, with a Peugeot 208 Rally4 driven by Perrard Grégory and his co-driver Delbecque César doing the same thing. They also reversed towards the canal, but fortunately stopped before the car was pulled completely into it.
