Python rescued after getting stuck on electricity cables in Thailand
A python had to be rescued after getting stuck on the wires on top of an electricity post.
The 13ft-long snake was searching for food in the neighbourhood when it slithered up the pole to avoid stray dogs in Sing Buri province, Thailand on August 5.
Shocked residents called the animal rescuers after noticing the giant creature above fearing that it might break the wires and cause an outage to the village.
When the team arrived, they used a pole to lure the python down but it would not budge so they used a crane lift instead to properly reach the snake.
Onlooker Boonsong Chan, said: ‘My niece was watering the plants outside and when she looked up she saw a huge snake on the electric pole.’
One of the volunteers climbed up the lift before being taken to the snake while colleagues assisted the equipment operator below.
As the snake avoided people, it took the team almost two hours before they were able to remove the snake from the pole.
It was unhurt and then pulled away from the wires before being taken down to the ground to be secured inside a sack for releasing into the wild later.
The cables were also not damaged from the incident and the rescue team drove off with the snake to a nearby forest.
