An elderly man impressed a crowd of revellers on the streets of Vancouver in Canada recently by challenging a much younger man to a push-up competition and thrashing him.

A video filmed by Priscilla George on August 7 shows the older man throwing down the gauntlet by smashing out dozens of one-arm push-ups.

The young man attempts to do the same but barely completes one of the strength exercises.

"We came across this group of younger people and this elderly man having a conversation revolving around the latter claiming that he could beat the younger gentleman in a battle of push-ups," said George.

"The elderly man easily won and blew all of our minds," she added.

'Nothing beats the excitement that comes along with witnessing an impromptu competition between random strangers on the street.

Filmed by Priscilla George, this video features a push-up battle between an elderly man and a young fella.

Priscilla wrote: "Friends and I wanted to play pool, so we took an Uber to Yaletown to go to Soho. While waiting in line to get in,we came across this group of younger people and this elderly man having a conversation revolving around the latter claiming that he could beat the younger gentleman in a battle of push-ups."

She added: "The younger gentleman was a bit hesitant as he didn’t have cash on hand, so my cousin offered him the money. We didn't know anybody there and just wanted to see the show. The elderly man easily won and blew all of our minds."
