These Chinese embroiders' artwork is so good they could pass as paintings
This embroidery artwork is so good they resemble paintings.
This video, filmed in the city of Shanghai on August 18, 2019, shows an elderly woman named Zhu Qinghua using a needle and silk to create the artwork in a Gu Embroidery Studio.
The completed embroidery artwork resembled a traditional Chinese painting. So the Gu embroidery is also called "painting embroidery."
Gu embroidery is a style of Chinese decorative needlework that originated during the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and was very popular well into the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
The embroidery is worked with fine floss silk thread in various colours on a silk background.
