The Makassar government prepares isolation for Covid-19 patients on the ship for free

One of the Makassar City Government's programs, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia to tackle the spread of Covid-19 is to carry out Integrated Floating Isolation.

This is an isolation program for patients with mild or no symptoms of COVID-19 using the PT Pelni (Persero) Ship which is an assistance from the Ministry of Transportation to the Makassar City Government which can accommodate 804 patients and around 60 health workers.

On the ship with the name KM Umsini, every patient carries out daily activities such as eating, sleeping, exercising, sunbathing and health checks on board for free. They are isolated until the swab test results are negative.

Every day, this ship sails in the waters and around the port of Makassar City. (*)
