Aerial footage of Caldor Fire in Northern California burning over 30,000 acres

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for thousands of residents in El Dorado County in Northern California on Tuesday morning, August 17 as the Caldor Fire rapidly expanded.

The fire broke out on August 14 and has now burned 30,000 acres and is 0% contained, according to Cal Fire.

An aerial video shared on social media showed massive smoke billowing from the fire.

The footage was filmed and posted on social media by 52AW Nevada Air Guard.
