Moment tanker lorry sprays 13,000 litres of thick brown liquid all over UK road
This is the moment a tanker lorry sprayed 13,000 litres of thick brown liquid all over a housing estate.
Footage shows the lorry leaking the suspicious slop in Aberaeron, Wales.
Fire crews were called to the scene at Panteg Road Wednesday afternoon and spent hours on site clearing the spillage.
A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire said: “A crew from Aberaeron are currently clearing a large spillage from the roadway at Panteg Road, Aberaeron. Joint Fire Control received the first call at 12.38pm.”
A spokesperson for Natural Resources Wales said: "We are aware of an incident in Aberaeron where a tanker has lost approximately 13,000 litres of a thick liquid on Panteg Road in Aberaeron.
"The exact nature of the substance is unknown at the moment; our current understanding is that the material is a by-product of milk processing. We are confirming the exact nature of the substance.
"Working with the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, we understand that a local waste contractor has been able to retrieve a good proportion of the substance before it entered the river.
"However, we know that some of the liquid has entered the river. We are monitoring any effect the substance is having on the river."
