A friendly baby buffalo enjoys drinking milk from an old woman’s lap like a toddler.

The six-month-old female calf named Ejoy was going hungry after her mother refused to yield milk to her at the farm in in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand.

Her caretaker, Saen Kamshanachai, 82, then took the calf into her home from the cows’ enclosure and treated the animal like her granddaughter.

Now, the calf will always approach the old farmer affectionately and ask for milk whenever she was hungry before she was bottle-fed.

Farmer Saen said: ‘Ejoy is more friendly than an average buffalo. She comes home and lays on my lap every morning to drink milk. She’s like a granddaughter to me.’

Saen has to feed Ejoy twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The baby buffalo will calmly drink from the bottle then put her head on the old woman’s lap.

The farmer added that sometimes Ejoy would even follow her to the fields when she leaves home to take care of the animals on her farm.

She said: ‘Ejoy feels like a family member. Ever since I took care of her she was always calm and caring. Even the neighbours notice how much Ejoy cares about me.’
