This non-venomous snake has attracted a lot of attention in recent times. It is one of the costliest creatures in international black market with the price of a single sand boa ranging from lakhs to crores of rupees.

It is widely trafficked in the international black market because of the myths and beliefs surrounding them putting this species to the risk of extinction.

This snake that belong to the same species has been crawling inside the temple premises.

The priest of the temple saw the same and informed the forest department staffs. They rushed to the spot and took the snake and left it in the deep woods where it can live peacefully without the fear of being hunted.
