Strong winds from Hurricane Grace uprooted trees on a road in Veracruz, Mexico on August 22.

Footage shows broken branches and fallen trees littering a road connecting the cities of Poza Rica and Papantla. Passing vehicles had difficulty going through the debris-covered path.

Hurricane Grace first made landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula on Thursday August 19 before re-strengthening into a Category 3 storm and slamming into Mexico’s eastern coast on Saturday August 21.

Veracruz State Governor Cuitlahuac Garcia said at least eight have died during the storm, including children.

Grace has since been downgraded to a tropical storm and is expected to head into the Pacific region.
