Indonesian volunteers try to help a cat fell into a 26-foot well, but..
A pet cat fell into a 26-foot well in a resident's house in Indonesia.
Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) volunteers called to rescue it.
House owner, Saimi Zainal, said his neighbor's cat was known to have fallen into the well when he heard a cat's meowing from inside the well.
"The cat was floating on the surface of the water in the well. I had helped it using a bucket with a rope, but the rope broke when the bucket and the cat pulled up," Zainal said.
The first volunteer to enter the well didn't find a cat in it.
The next volunteer went down into the well, dived to find the cat at the bottom of the well, then found a bucket and then found the dead cat.
"It is suspected that the cat was covered by a bucket, then drowned," said Akmal, a PMI volunteer.According to Akmal, the cat allegedly fell when it crossed the water pipe above the well.
Cat carcasses removed so as not to contaminate well water.
The owner of the house closed the well so that no more cats fell into it.
Meanwhile, the sad cat owner immediately buried his cat's carcass in his backyard.
Footage filmed on August 17, in Bukittinggi city, West Sumatra province.
