2 majestic bearded vultures fighting in flight in the swiss Alps. Bearded vultures are huge birds, reaching 2.8m wingspan. The dark one with black head is a young one, born this year and only flying since mid august. The otherone with the bright head and body is an adult, probably his father. The father seems to attack the young one.... uncertain if it is to push him away from this area, but maybe , more likely, to teach him how to dodge attacks by birds of prey ? May this is part of his education ? Whatever it was, it was spectacular. Filmed handheld with a Canon EOS R6 and RF 800/11 telelens, filmed and edited for 4x slowmotion with additional crop zoom. Not easy to follow handheld at 800mm but managed in edit. Sound edited. In reality the young bird was screaming during the attacks but the camera does not record sound when shooting in 120fps. It is very rare , actually, to hear the voice of the bearded vultures.
