Sudden flash floods in a forest river left the villagers in a deadly fear in South India. Location: Periyaaru, Kodaikkanal, Dindugal district of Tamilnadu State in South India.



Heavy downpour was seen for the past four days in the hilly region kodaikkanal which is located in South India. Periyaaru is a river that runs in this area. Due to the rains already the river was flooded with rainwater and intense downpour for the couple of hours made things worse. A sudden flash floods occurred leaving the river water raised. A group of twenty villages crossed this river this morning for thier daily works but were stuck on the other side due to the flash floods. A wooden bride was their earlier it was washed away by a cyclone. Then the people managed to tie ropes on either sides of the river bank. Villagers crossed the river holding the rope tightly. A small mistake can even lead to death in this area as its a forest river. Breath taking visuals of people crossing the flooded river are captured on camera
