In this clip, activists and family members of Uyinene Mrwetyana are seen gathering in Cape Town, outside the post office where the young woman was murdered, two years ago.

Uyinene Mrwetyana was raped and killed in 2019 by a post office attendant. She was a student at the University of Cape Town.

The Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation and her family will deliver 20,000 postcards to Parliament, to demand action against gender-based violence in South Africa.

Footage shows postcards reading the stories of women victims of gender violence.

One of them says: "One day my child's father chased me with a hammer. I fell and he hit me on my back".

Activists claim that the South African government hasn’t done enough to keep women safe.
