The Taliban swept into Afghanistan’s capital after the government collapsed and the embattled president joined an exodus of his fellow citizens and foreigners, signaling the end of a costly two-decade U.S. campaign to remake the country.

The video shows Afghan refugees in Indonesia talking about their lives after Taliban takeover. You can also see the Ravindo Tower. It is in the immediate vicinity of this tower that refugees from the Hazara tribe, Afghanistan, are forced to live as homeless without any occupation, since modern people have their own daily routine. Even everything that happened to them was like they got sick and almost died, no one cared and even more so did not help them.

Interviews:

1) Mahdi : We are not allowed to work in Indonesia. We can't work here.
AG: : Can't work. Can't get married? Does it say that you can't get married?
Mahdi: It doesn't say that, but in Indonesia it's not allowed to get married.
Abdullah: It was mentioned by a friend of an Indonesian citizen.
AG: Even if you can get married, you can only marry religiously, right?
Mahdi: While we were in Indonesia, we were always kind to Indonesian citizens.
AG : But for example like this, right, you get financial assistance from family and friends from your country. For example, the amount of money is enough to buy or rent a house, is it okay?
Abdullah: No. It cannot be used to buy a house, nor can it be used for motorcycle transportation.
AG : Not allowed for anything? How about renting a house?
Abdullah: You can rent.
AG : You can rent, but you can't buy a house? Can trade? May I?
Abdullah: No.
AG : So you can't live, you can only do this?
Abdullah: Therefore we are tired.
AG : Then, you can speak Indonesian fluently, how do you do it?
Abdullah: With local people.
AG : Did you learn immediately when you got here?
Abdullah: Yes
AG : Didn't you learn from there?
Mahdi : I myself studied at a sports venue, in Pekanbaru. With Indonesians, constantly (associating).
AG : Do you often have activities from UNHCR?
Mahdi: What?
AG : From UNHCR, are there any activities for refugees? For example, sports or arts?
Abdullah: Sports exist. Hindu language courses, and other training. But they (UNHCR) want the refugees to be busy with it. So the refugees who come here are only busy with training activities.
AG : Busy with training? Are there training programs?
Abdullah: (Nods)
AG : After joining the training program, will you be assigned to work?
Abdullah: (Shakes his head). For example, cooking training, if we have finished participating in it, where do we want to cook, we can't even work.
AG : So it doesn't mean that after, for example, you pass a cooking course, you will be channeled to work in a restaurant? Or can you open your own restaurant? Can't you?
Abdullah: No.
AG : So you can only study?
Abdullah: Because they (UNHCR:United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ) get a lot of money from the training program. They do advertising and make training for refugees. They get money from other countries. They made it a business. That's UNHCR's advertising.
AG : Oh, what was that called, bread, huh? What's the name of the bread, please show me? What's the name of the bread?
