Hurricane Ida made landfall near Port Fourchon, Louisiana at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, August 29 as a Category 4 storm.

The storm moved through the state northward, causing structural damage and downed trees.

Heavy rainfall of 6 to 10 inches has fallen with additional amounts of 4 to 6 inches more expected.

There are now nearly 1 million customers in Louisiana and Mississippi without power, according to sources. The vast majority of them are in Louisiana.
