It's hard being a bride in Minangkabau, it takes 4 hours to get ready for the wedding
It's not easy being a bride in Minangkabau or West
Sumatra. starting at 05.00 they have to take a
shower and have breakfast. at 06.00 you have to
make up. It took 3 hours for makeup only. ranging
from foundation to wearing false eyebrows. one
more hour to put the suntiang or gold flower crown on
the head and dress the bride. 10.00 am ready to be
paraded to the place of the wedding party.
groom preparation only 10 minutes. wear clothes
and caps and lastly wear shoes.... it's already a wedding party.. so simple.
they were both paraded in a pick up car designed for the bride and groom. although this car is usually used to transport vegetables, goat, cow and all everything to the market..
approached the place of the wedding party on foot in all its greatness.
