Solo Baltimore man confronts riot police line

A dramatic video has emerged of a man confronting a line of riot police during the Baltimore disturbances on Monday.

The footage shows the man delivering a passionate speech on an intersection in front of the assembled police.

"I love y'all, I love the police ... my neighbourhood's in trouble and I'm doing everything I can do", he can be heard shouting at one point.

Writing online about the footage, the filmer said "I filmed this video Monday night (4/27) at the height of the Baltimore Riots. This video was taken at the burned down CVS (where most of the news of the day took place). While I was there, the Riot Police were eating pizza and a man pulled up his car in the middle of the intersection, got out and I began filming."

Serious disturbances have broken out across Baltimore following the funeral of Freddie Gray - a black man who died in unclear circumstances in police custody earlier this month.

The Maryland National Guard were brought into the city after Governor Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency.
