Hurricane Ida made landfall near Port Fourchon, Louisiana at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, August 29 as a Category 4 storm.

The storm moved through the state northward, causing structural damage and downed trees. Widespread power outages were also reported in several locations in New Orleans and neighboring parishes.
