The Nevada Highway Patrol and Clark County Fire Department responded to a fatal accident on northbound 1-15 near mile marker 12, just north of the Jean exit on August 30, at around 7 am.

It was reported by NHP PIO Trooper Ashlee Wellman that a Honda Sedan crashed into the rear of a semi-truck while heading northbound on 1-15.

The female driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. The female passenger was transported to UMC Hospital and is in critical condition.
