Black bear steals farmer's honey and damages beehives in southern China
A black bear stole a farmer's honey and damaged his beehives in southern China.
The CCTV video, captured in the city of Mianzhu in Sichuan Province on August 16, shows a black bear enjoying honey from the beehives in a farm.
Still pictures show the damaged beehives after the black bear left.
According to reports, the farmer named Meng found his honey was stolen and the beehives were damaged several days earlier so he installed a surveillance camera, not realising that a bear was behind the thefts.
However, the bear appeared again to steal honey and even damaged the camera as well. So Meng called the police for help.
Finally, the police investigation found that the black bear was the culprit.
Since the black bear is a protected animal, Meng said although they stole the honey, he would not hurt them.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
