A giant 14ft-long python was caught hiding under a house’s roof in Thailand.

The huge snake was spotted hanging on the beams of an old house while it was hunting pigeons and other small birds perching on the structure in Uthai Thani province on August 25.

House owner Dan Mahasuchon immediately called the animal rescue team as the creature was too big and could easily attack his family with its size.

When the volunteers arrived, they used a pole to reach the animal from the second-floor window of the house and pulled it to the ground.

Dan said: ‘The snake was too big and it was trying to escape by slithering into the ceiling. I knew it would be too dangerous to catch it on our own so I called for help.’

The snake was taken in a sack before it was released back into the woods by the volunteers.
