Bridge collapses into rapid floodwater as Chinese city hit by heavy rain
A bridge collapsed into rapid floodwater after central China was hit with heavy rain.
The video, filmed in the city of Sanmenxia in Henan Province on September 1, shows an over 100-metre-long bridge collapsing in a flooded river.
Due to the continuous rainfall, the water level rose and washed away the over 30-year-old bridge.
According to a resident named Liao, vehicles and pedestrians were banned from crossing the bridge several days prior to its collapse. No casualties were reported.
