In this episode, we have come to Bedok Interchange Hawker Food Centre to try out some Michelin Guide food stores hidden in the rows of food store here.

The first store is prepared by 2 aunties that sell steam cakes topped with preserved radish. This is a traditional snack in Singapore and can also be a breakfast. It is a traditional Teochew dish that put together simple but impactful ingredients for everyone to enjoy.

In this store, all the ingredients are made fresh and the cakes are steamed first before plating. The radish is kept hot in a pot and be sure to ask for their signature chili.

The second store serves traditional chinese curry chicken noodles. The broth is made from rich and creamy coconut milk and curry powder. The chicken they use is white steam chicken, the other ingredients are potato and beancurd.

The hawker life is hard in Singapore as they need to spend a significant amount of time standing and away from their sons and daughter. Some even need to wake up really early as 6am to get started on cooking and preparation. But what keeps them motivated is the smile and appreciation of the customer, seeing the customer enjoying their soup with smiles.

Do come down to support all of the hawker center stores and it is okay to get in a queue in the hot weather and wait for some good food.
