In this episode, we will bring you to Ghim Moh Road Market and Food Centre. We will be tasting 2 Michelin Guide dishes starting with our local favourite Fried Kway Teow and our traditional Braised Duck Rice and reviewing them on their taste and the value.

Char Kway Teow has been a popular noodle rice dish from Maritime Southeast Asia mainly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. However they are more popular and frequently eaten in Malaysia and Singapore and also very affordable to the locals as the ingredients are very little and simple.

They are made out of flat rice noodles, beans sprouts, Chinese sausage, fish cake, cockles and egg. The process is simple and usually cook in a very large wok. All the ingredients will be added into the pot and stir fried to soften the noodles and you just need to tell the uncle if you like with chilli or without.

Braised Duck Rice is a humble plate of steamed yam rice with slices of braised boneless duck with their own signature beancurd and braised egg and braised peanuts. How you would know if the store is good is by looking at the amount of people queuing up and eating their store. The duck will be braised in soya sauce and other spices up to the owner for hours and finally being chopped up and serve to the customer when they ordered a plate.
