Ida, which slammed the Gulf Coast as a Category 4 hurricane with 150 mph winds, weakened to a tropical depression Monday afternoon as it dumped heavy rainfall over Mississippi and continued to pose a threat of flash flooding, forecasters said in the 5 p.m. advisory. The storm left over 1 million people in Louisiana without power Monday before slowly spinning northeast through western Mississippi.
