Filming in the secretive community gone wrong
Country of Belize in Central America is well known not only because of Mayan monuments and incredible diving but also because of a Mennonite community living in the country. It reminds a bit of Amish people but the major difference is that its members are using modern equipment such as cars and agricultural machines. Still, tourists visiting the community are usually under a surveillance.
Mennonite people usually don’t like being photographed and filmed. That was the reason why one of the tourists decided to film in their community of Spanish lookout in Belize with a hidden camera and an action camera attached to a car for purpose of a short document. However filming with the action camera on his car came bad in more than one way.
Humid and more humid - that is the usual description of the Belizean weather. After twenty minutes of filming cam started to be quite foogy and image from the camera started to be blurry to say the least. However something worse was just about to come. Part attached to the car failed and in the speed of about 60km/h (37mph) camera got airborne and started its unattractive flight and landed on the mix of asphalt and dust seconds after.
„It was not exactly what you want to happen if you tried to stay invisible inside the community. Camera cover was totally crushed but surprisingly camera itself survived the crash without a single scratch,“ said the author of video who decided to leave the idea of making a document after the string of bad coincidences.
