Hurricane Ida brings major flooding to the Philadelphia Area

The remnants of Hurricane Ida dumped 6”-8” of rain on Philadelphia on Wednesday, September 1. The city awoke to major flooding Thursday morning. The Schuylkill River, projected to crest at 9am, surpassed the major flood level of 14 feet, according to sources, sending vast amounts of water into the city’s business district. Flood waters stranded motorists and left park cars submerged up to their windows.
