Thai massage girls were waiting for customers today after Covid-19 restrictions eased allowing them to give rub downs again.

Footage shows the workers outside parlours on the Sukhumvit Road red-light district in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 3.

Despite officials saying that only ‘foot massages’ are permitted, many venues have returned to business as normal with full-body oil massages openly available.

Health chief relaxed lockdown measures on September 1 following several days of falling case numbers. Shopping malls, restaurants and flights between provinces have since all resumed but a 9pm – 4am curfew remains in place.

Ministers hope that a mass vaccine roll-out which started in May will allow them to re-open the country by the end of October so tourism can splutter back into life.

Thailand recorded 14,653 Covid-19 cases on September 3, a sharp fall from the high of 23,418 on August 13. A total of 12,374 deaths have so far been recorded.
