An eight-year-old girl in South India demonstrates impressive martial arts skills on a boat even in rough seas.

The incredible video was filmed in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu state on Thursday 2 September.

Slethama is a young girl who loves 'Silambam' a martial art that originated in Tamil Nadu. She started learning it from age five and, having practiced hard, is now an expert.

To push herself even harder she had the idea to try it on an unstable surface, so now she trains on a boat out at sea, getting better every time.

Performing Silambam on stable ground is not easy but she is now able to swirl the bamboo stick perfectly even when the boat is hit by harsh tides.

Her parents are amazed at her skill.

Slethama is a 8 year old girl who has love for "Silambam " a form of martial art that originated in Tamilnadu. She started learning this art from the age of 5. She practised it very hard and turned into an expert in performing that martial art.

She thought of doing something even more than just learning it. So she wanted to perform this martial art in an unstable ground. She chose to swirl the bamboo stick in the rough sea. She practised every day harder and harder day by day.

Performing Silambam in a stable ground is itself a difficult task but this girl managed to swirl the bamboo stick in the air perfectly even when she was hit hard by the harsh tides. Parents of the girl was amazed to see her perform like this.
