'This is the enthralling moment Kris Serkes and his family found out what had been bothering them from behind the wall.

"We heard scratches from behind the wall the previous night and didn’t think too much about it, but it was worse the next morning," the filmer, Claire Serkes explained. "We had no idea what it was, but we couldn’t have just let it die, so my husband decided to cut the wall open."

A few tense seconds later, the mystery gets unraveled and a bird flies out of the newly-created hole. According to the filmer, the bird was unharmed and flew out of the window shortly after she stopped recording.

"I was in the room, along with my 7-year-old and 8-year-old boys and we were all terrified! We had no idea it was a bird because it never made any bird noises, only scratches. That's why we all thought it was a rat."
