A fruit-seller in southern India has struck up an unusual friendship with a giant squirrel and invites the whopping rodent to a free breakfast every day.

Footage captured in Coonoor in the state of Tamil Nadu on August 29 shows the hefty creature descending from the surrounding trees to select the fresh produce from the stall.

Moments later, the squirrel scampers off to enjoy its healthy breakfast.

According to the fruit-seller, she had to close her stall for several months during the COVID-19 lockdown but was amazed when the squirrel came to find as soon as she reopened.

Indian giant squirrels, also known as Malabar giant squirrels, are large multi-coloured tree-dwelling rodents that can be found in forests and woodlands in several parts of India.

Location: Coonoor Nilgiris district of Tamilnadu State South India.

Indian Giant squrriel or Malabar squrriel is in the decreasing population list. It's vibrant colours and it's big physic make them more attractive.

Connor is a hilly region and it servers as a habitat for many wild animals reptiles and birds. This Indian Giant squrriel also lives here. It often visits the human habitation s in search of food.

And thus this squirrel made strong friendship with the fruit seller of that area.

The fruit seller allows the squrriel to pick the fruit of its choice from the shop. As the country was shut with the lock down the fruit seller too didn't open the shop for months together.

And now the lock down has been released and the fruit seller opened the shop to her suprise her old buddy visited the shop.

And as usual it picked he fruit of its coice and climbed the tree. It also got an add on fruit from the fruit seller as a bond to make the friendship more deeper
