Two elephants held up traffic before smashing through an electric fence in Galgamuwa, Sri Lanka.

Forest officials were monitoring the situation as a herd of elephants strayed from their corridor in search of food.

Two of the herd were seen smashing through a section of an electric fence surrounding some greenery.

This footage was filmed on September 6.

Wildlife was having the best time while taking a tour of the forest cover in search of a potential meal in Sri Lanka's North Western Province on September 6. The incident took place in Galgamuwa, located in the Kurunegala District.

Visuals feature the forest officials arriving at the spot with all the equipment to take control of the situation after elephants began to barge into the village. After a while, a couple of jumbos approach the road and break through the wire fencing before drifting away into the greenery.

The elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridors to look for food. Sometimes they relocate across the forest covers, making the locals familiar with such incidents. Moreover, the jumbos often break the wire fencing of the fields to look for a meal as the forest areas have reduced over time.
