To save tourist areas that were damaged by coastal erosion or abrasion, the turtle conservation manager, Pati Hariyose, began to repair and nurse mangroves of the Rhizopora Apiculata type.

Pati Hariyose said this nursery was carried out to rehabilitate coastal areas that were starting to be damaged by the waves because there were no barriers on the shoreline, as well as areas that were formerly sand mining.

"It is hoped that after planting mangroves, this area will also become an agro-tourism, in addition to enjoying the beauty of Pasir Jambak Beach in Padang," he explained.

The mangroves planted are currently about two months old on average because several leaves have grown. Pati Hariyose added that the seeds were obtained in the Bungus mangrove forest area, Padang and were treated in Pasir Jambak.

"After there were enough leaves, planting began at a number of points in the Pasir Jambak tourist attraction," he added. (moozamochi).
