Take a look inside an awesome private reptile breeding facility that is like stepping into a real-life Jurassic Park.

Josh Alvarez, 23, cares for reptilian species including Rhino iguanas, red foot tortoises, a monitor lizard, tegus, reticulated pythons, Burmese pythons, a green anaconda, some boas, indigo snakes, bull snakes, a pair of rat snakes, a pair of king snakes and many geckos.

Reptile enthusiast Josh keeps the collection in a private breeding facility at SBR (South Bay reptiles), based in southern California.

Josh said: “Being able to work with reptiles/animals has always been a passion of mine. Being able to have them so close is rewarding in many ways for me.

"However, the best aspect has to be being able to interact with the reptiles all the time and walking into a mini 'Jurassic park' every day.

"I try and record a lot of the daily maintenance or interesting news stuff that’s going on in the facility to keep the public updated through social media.

“The most challenging aspect will be the regular maintenance. Keeping up with many species keeps me busy with something to do every day.”

“Reptiles, and the bond I have with them, stems from my childhood watching Steve Irwin and his passion for animals and wildlife. I simply love animals, and reptiles are my favourite. I love to be around them.

"I love interacting with them. I really enjoy being able to breed and produce my own line of reptiles that people can further enjoy.”
