An interesting moment was caught on camera where a male 'Asian Koel (Cuckoo)' was seen 'singing' the melodious song, 'koo-oo koo-oo'. As the most romanticised bird in literature, the Koel has been a common imagery of love.

The clip, filmed on September 8 in India, shows a male Aisan Koel singing the melodious song they're known for on a monsoon afternoon.

Nature enthusiast Arindam Roy told Newsflare: "One afternoon, I got to witness the beautiful vocal song 'koo-oo koo-oo' of Male Asian Koel. The song mesmerised me and I started filming it. The Asian Koel is more often heard, especially during its breeding season (roughly every 3 months throughout the year, following the house crow’s breeding cycle). The male sings to attract the females. It’s also an announcement that the crows have started nesting. The call will be a long, different from the usual short notes."

"They make variety of calls, including the distinctively loud, repetitive, high-pitched ‘koo-ooo’ mating calls from dawn, and can sometimes be heard till night. The male bird follows a strategy where he distracts the crow parents and diverts their attention from the nest. Using the opportunity, the female Koel would sneak in and lay its egg", he continued.
