Hundreds of bikers in Nottinghamshire pay tribute to former Rock City security man Derek 'Rat' Rate
Hundreds of bikers have paid to a former head of security at Nottingham live venue Rock City, who died last month.
Derek "Rat" Rate worked at the club during the 1980s and 1990s, according to local media. Video filmed on Friday (September 10) shows hundreds of bikers take part in a procession in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire in a scene lasting several minutes.
"I noticed a lot of people standing on the payments with their phones out so I went to have a look what was going on," Newsflare's filmer Michael said. "As soon as I realised it was a Hells Angels funeral procession I knew it was going to be something truly spectacular, they really know how to show respect and solidarity!
"I have truly never seen so many awesome bikes in one place. Neither myself or the people around me could quite believe where all these bikes were coming from! It's just a shame an idiot in the Black Nissan had no respect or patience and kept trying to creep forward to jump into a gap that never materialised!
"Rest in Peace Rat, you were obviously an amazing person and very highly thought of and respected."
