Environmental protestors attempt to block IAA Mobility 2021 car show in Munich
Around 500 environmental protesters took to the streets of Munich on Friday (September 10) in an attempt to disrupt IAA Mobility 2021, the high profile car show.
Police used pepper spray on numerous occasions in an attempt to disperse crowds and a protester also temporarily climbed a tree which saw police trying to pull them from the tree.
The Mercedes Benz showroom had to be closed for a period of time due to the protests.
The city has a heavy police presence due to the threat of protests disrupting the event.
According to Forbes, some of the big names exhibiting at IAA Mobility this year include Bosch, Ford, Hyundai, Intel/Mobileye, Magna International, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Qualcomm, Renault, Siemens and Volkswagen, among others.
