The COVID-19 pandemic persists and families in Canada are suffering. Many families are struggling with financial insecurities and are relying on food banks and social services because they cannot afford the everyday essentials like soap, shampoo, and toothbrushes.
While Canadians are coping with the effects of the pandemic, Canada is also opening its doors to thousands of refugees fleeing Afghanistan.

The COVID-19 pandemic persists and families in Canada are suffering. Many families are struggling with financial insecurities and are relying on food banks and social services because they cannot afford the everyday essentials like soap, shampoo and toothbrushes. While Canadians are coping with the effects of the pandemic, we are also opening our doors to thousands of refugees fleeing Afghanistan who are arriving in Canada with nothing.
GlobalMedic and Procter & Gamble have a longstanding relationship, working together to donate personal hygiene kits to Canadians in need through disaster relief efforts, shelters, and other organizations supporting individuals facing financial barriers.
This Saturday, GlobalMedic volunteers are packing 1,600 hygiene kits for vulnerable Canadians and Afghan refugees. Each kit will include essential items such as Oral-B Toothbrushes, Pantene shampoo & conditioner and Always menstrual hygiene products donated by Procter & Gamble. These high quality products provide recipients with supplies to keep themselves healthy and confident and the warmth of knowing that they are cared for.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021 GlobalMedic volunteers will be packing Procter & Gamble hygiene kits at GlobalMedic's headquarters in Etobicoke. Members of the media are invited to attend to capture footage of the volunteers packing hygiene kits. The COVID-19 pandemic persists and as the risk of a fourth wave looms, many families in the GTA are suffering. Food insecurity has been on the rise with months of lockdown across the country, and despite provincial reopening, families are still going hungry. Food banks have felt this increase as well, and have been inundated with clients, leaving shelves empty and families in need.
GlobalMedic and Hand Up Toronto continue to partner to bring nutritious, and delicious food to food-insecure families in the GTA. We have packaged grocery hampers called Feed the Six kits, containing various dried staple foods such as lentils, rice and pasta. We have been working together to provide 500 families with these kits each month, which are delivered to them via contactless delivery. Not only will these kits provide families with staple food items during these challenging times, but they will also minimize families' exposure to the virus by decreasing their need to physically go to grocery stores and food banks.
Today (Saturday, September 11th, 2021) we will be holding our monthly Feed the Six contactless dispatch out of GlobalMedic's headquarters in Etobicoke. Members of the media are invited to attend to capture footage of the Feed the Six contactless driver dispatch taking place. GlobalMedic and Hand Up Toronto staff will be available for interviews.
