A rescuer eventually managed to remove a snake hiding inside a pipe after attempting several methods to budge the serpent.

After being called to Pune, Maharashtra, on September 7, Saidas Kusal found the snake cowering inside a 30-foot-long iron pipe.

Kusal realised the snake was non-venomous and tried to shake it out of the pipe.

He then attempted to flush it out by pouring water into one end of the pipe, this did not work either.

Kusal then tried slamming the pipe onto the ground, the vibrations eventually managed to persuade the snake to exit.

Saidas said: "The snake had so firmly lodged itself inside, I was running out of ways to make it come out.”

The snake was later released into the wild.

A farmer saw a snake at his courtyard near Pune in Western Maharashtra on September 7.

When he tried to chase it away, the five-feet-long long snake took refuge inside a 30-feet-long iron pipe and refused to come out. Fearing that it may bite and kill his cattle, the farmer called rescuer, Saidas Kusal, to remove it from his home.

Saidas realised that the snake was a non-venomous rat snake and tried to shake it off the pipe. But the snake refused to budge.

The rescuer then poured water into the pipe to persuade the snake to come out. He also tried to poke it with a long stick. The snake refused to budge and stayed put inside the pipe.

Saidas started gently slamming the pipe to the ground. The vibrations dislodged the snake and made it move a little. Saidas grabbed its tail and reeled it out.

Saidas said”: The snake had so firmly lodged itself inside, I was running out of ways to make it come out.”

The snake was rescued and released in the wild later.
