This is the awkward moment two wild Ptyas korros snakes were caught mating on the nature trails of Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The two snakes were seen tangled up with each other on the tracks in Shoushan National Natural Park. The pair moved to the side of the trail, hiding behind some shrubs before continuing copulation.

Tourist Zhan Chase said he was trekking when he came across the odd scene.

He said: "The connection between snakes is mysterious and powerful."
