This is the moment a Spanish kitesurfer broke the world record for the longest hang-time with an astonishing leap that saw him spend more than 60 seconds in the air.

This video shows Carlos Aldaravi achieving the feat at Valdevaqueros Beach in Tarifa in Spain.

Carlos wrote: "I took a plane to Tarifa just for the weekend. I was hoping to set the world record and I did it!"

The kiteboarding pro also stated that his incredible accomplishment comprised 20 kite loops, with the wind speeds estimated at between 30 and 50 knots.

The remarkable leap took place on July 9 this year.
