Wild elephant spotted casually strolling along road in Sri Lanka
A wild elephant took to the streets in Sri Lanka's North Central Province on September 9. The incident took place in Habarana, located in the Anuradhapura District.
Visuals feature a wild elephant roaming on a moderately busy road surrounded by forest cover on either side. The jumbo crosses over and slowly tours the sidelines. Meanwhile, the passers-by slow down their vehicles and calmly drive past the mammal. Later, the pachyderm retreats to the woods.
The elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridors to look for food. They often appear on the busy roads, making the locals familiar with such incidents.
