This is the beautiful moment a herd of wild elephants walked through a forest in a reservoir in Thailand.

Footage shows more than 20 wild elephants walking calmly to the jungle near Khlong Prakad reservoir in Chanthaburi province. The smaller, younger calves are seen staying close to their mothers.

Pitak Yingyong, who works at Khao Chomphu Wildlife Sanctuary, said: ‘We see this picturesque scene of the whole elephant herd like this once a year. Every time I come here during this period, I always see such an elephant herd.’

Elephants are known social animals. They live in matriarch-led herds while the adult male elephants usually go off on their own.
