Hundreds of Indonesians asked for legal assistance from lawyers to report a woman with the initials R-Y (37) to the police.

The woman from Agam, West Sumatra province, is suspected of defrauding hundreds of people of more than 13 billion rupiah by investing in the production of worship equipment.

M. Nur Idris, a lawyer for the fraud victim, said the perpetrator and her gang persuaded the victim to invest money in the Minang mukena and scarf production business.

"The perpetrator downloaded photos of mukena, scarves and photos of shipping goods from search results on Google. Then she said it was a product of her business and the process of shipping to Malaysia," Idris said.

As of Tuesday (14/9), more than 500 people have been victims, 140 of them requested legal assistance, each with losses of 2 million to more than 600 million rupiah.

The victim reported the perpetrator and her 2 assistants to the West Sumatra provincial police.
