A couple in Bhagalpur, Bihar, were left shocked as they gave birth to a baby girl with a head full of silver hair.

Pramila Devi gave birth at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital on September 6 to the silver-haired girl.

She and the girl's father, Rakesh Kumar, both said they were pleased that their daughter is healthy.

Hospital superintendent Dr. Asim Kumar Das said that the girl's hair colour is down to the non-production of melanin pigment. He also mentioned that children with this genetic disorder are less tolerant to sunlight.
