Orphaned albino elephant, Khanyisa, enjoys a sand bath with HERD founder, Adine Roode
Khanyisa the orphaned albino elephant was rescued from a poacher's snare in January 2020 and came to Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development for rehabilitation and care. In this video, HERD founder Adine Roode, helps Khanyisa to have a sand bath in the orphanage gardens. This was filmed shortly after her rescue - the blue marks on her face are from an antibiotic spray that was used to treat her horrific wounds.
