Thirty-six climate change protesters have been arrested today (September 15) after blocking parts of the M25 for the second time in three days, causing huge queues of traffic.

Protesters from the Insulate Britain campaign group, which included a man, aged 82, brought traffic to a standstill at several points along Britain's busiest motorway.

A motor accident occurred today (September 15) with a woman being airlifted as a result. The woman is reportedly 50 years old.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesperson told local media: "I can confirm we were called to reports of an RTC on the M25 at junction 9 shortly before 9 am today.

"Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service. A woman has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition."
