Migrants cross the southern border of Mexico in Chiapas
This footage was filmed and produced 15 September 2021.
Haitian and other migrants cross aboard a chalán or panga, an arm of the La Angostura dam, in La Concordia, Chiapas. They use an alternate route to migrate in this region of the southern Mexican border after being repressed on the Tapachula route.
The video shows the type of transport by which migrants, even those with cars or motorcycles, cross the border with Mexico. They have to use this method of transportation, because other ways are closed to them. As you can see, a lot of migrants use this type of "public transport " every day. At the moment, this is the only way for migrants to cross the southern border of Mexico.
