Resident films messy flat after 6.0-magnitude earthquake strikes southern China
A resident captured the mess in her flat after a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck in Luzhou Shi, southern China.
In the video, shot in the Lu County in Sichuan Province on September 16 by a woman and her mother, the kitchenware and food are scattered on the floor after dropping from the cabinets.
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a magnitude of 5.4, while the China Earthquake Networks Centre measured a magnitude of 6.0. The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers from the surface, reported by both agencies.
Local government officials confirmed at least two deaths, while 59 more were injured. More than 200 houses were damaged, and 6,904 residents were evacuated.
The earthquake, which hit 120 kilometers southwest of densely populated Chongqing, triggered the second-highest response in China’s four-tiered emergency response system.
